When I was three, I mistakenly thought my family’s playroom Wii console was a toaster. I was really hungry and could not find my parents or sister to ask them for food. I also could not talk properly and my eight year old sister did not understand what I was asking. I decided to show the strong, independent, toddler I was and take matters into my own hands. I stuck my immaculately delicious Minnie Mouse Eggo waffles in the Wii console. It obviously broke and my whole family was infuriated with me. This is now a very laughable but also sad story in my household. Shortly after this incident, I discovered my passion for dancing. At first I started with recreational dancing which I did for 2 and ½ years. When I switched to competitive dance, I spent every day of my life committed to dance. Monday through Friday, I would dance every day after school from 4-9pm, and on Saturdays I would dance from 9am to 5pm. I loved every second of it and never got tired of dancing. But when middle school came around and the studio environment started to change to a more toxic than beneficial environment, I quit the summer of 6th grade going into 7th grade. That was the most heartbreaking experience, but in 7th grade I found a new passion for lacrosse. I joined a club team in 8th grade and I loved it even more because my team was amazing. This year I had the opportunity to join the CLS Dance Team which rekindled my love for dance all over again. I am very passionate about dance and lacrosse because they are my escape from school.
