Everyone always debates about whether you should start listening to holiday music before or after Thanksgiving, but our Journalism class has been listening to Christmas music since October. From “Wrapped in Red” to “¿Dónde Está Santa Claus?,” we listened to a wide variety of banging tunes. In light of the upcoming holidays, here are some of our favorite songs:

Tommy Beason ‘24

“I would say ‘Santa Tell Me’ by Ariana Grande because you know I’m a big Ariana Grande fan you know just the way she hits those notes just really gets me in the mood.”

“My favorite holiday song is ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ by Camilla Cabello because I just really like her unique way of pronouncing Quismois.”

Hailey Kim ‘23

“My favorite holiday song is ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ by Jimmy Boyd because it has a fun melody and storyline as well.”

Connor Little ‘23

My favorite holiday song is ‘Feels Like Christmas’ by Brett Eldgredge. It is a very nice song; it’s new, maybe a year old. And it just– the title really gives off what it means to me. It just feels like Christmas, and it’s got an old school jazz feel. It’s just such a happy song.”

Lindsay Baker ‘24

“My favorite holiday song is probably ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ by Brenda Lee because it’s just so fun and lighthearted, and you can dance around to it.”

Casey Cupps-O’Sullivan ‘25

My favorite holiday song is ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’ by Mariah Carey because I know all the words and it’s just really catchy to sing along to.”

Ben Goldman ‘26

“‘Dominick the Donkey’ because the hee-haw, hee-haw at the end just gets me so emotional every time I hear it.”

Sophia Smith ‘26

My favorite holiday song is ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ by Mariah Carey because I have a lot of memories associated with the song and with the holidays.”

“Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ because it reminds me of the 80s, and the 80s was the greatest decade ever.”
