A wave of anxiety washed over me when I saw the crowd of new faces. I was a frightened six-year-old on my first day of kindergarten. Ever since, I have been on my way to becoming a Latin Lifer. As I became more involved in Latin’s community, I saw the impact it had on who I was becoming. I made many new friends and learned a lot from the teachers and the other students. One of the scariest decisions I have had to make thus far in my life has to be whether or not to stay at Latin after Middle School. The transition to Upper School became easier and easier, and I am happy with the final result. Many people can’t tell my personality just from glancing at me but if they get to know me, I feel as though they will learn that I have a very subtle and sarcastic sense of humor. If I had to share my secret talent, it would be that I can cross my eyes—although I believe virtually everyone can do that. On the weekends I enjoy spending time with my friends as well as playing soccer, video games and swimming in the pool, although the water in the lake is my favorite. I enjoy walking on the beach as well as swimming in the ocean, but I hate the taste of saltwater.
